Our Simple Promise
Kindness is at the heart of everything we do – but – we’re about so much more. As trusted sensitive skin experts, we’re committed to keeping you and your skin looking (and feeling!) its best, starting with clean, uncomplicated products that downright love your skin and the planet too.
So what do we mean by clean beauty, exactly? Well, we say no way to harsh ingredients, colours and chemicals known to upset your skin, because what we leave out is just as important as what we put in.
Clean beauty is also about being kind to animals. Yep, we’re super proud to be globally PETA-certified cruelty free – and this is just the start. We’re working on getting vegan certification on our products, too. Yasss!
And what about our packaging? We always try our best to use packaging made from recycled materials and we’re getting better each year – so, watch this space!
Our History
Kind to Skin
Ever notice how your skin can go from happy and healthy looking to delicate and unpredictable just like that? Well don’t worry, that’s totally normal. Every skin type has its sensitive moments – as a result of everyday elements such as changing weather and city pollution to stress and lack of sleep – causing it to act up and behave in all sorts of random ways.
We get it. Sensitive skin can be complicated.
But we think looking after your skin should be simple, clean and free from any harsh ingredients that could upset it. Which is why we only use the kindest ingredients that respect your skin’s natural ways.

Sensitive skin’s BFF
You know we’re all about leaving out harsh ingredients, but we also insist on testing every single one of our products, too. Call us obsessed, but that’s how we make sure they’re nothing but kind, skin-loving and safe, especially for sensitive skin. In fact, our products are hypoallergenic (non-irritating), dermatologically tested (safe for sensitive skin), non-comedogenic (non pore-clogging), ophthalmologically tested (safe for your delicate eyes) and pH-balanced to your skin. Phew!
Our NOs list
We are all about saying no to harsh chemicals that can upset your skin. What we leave out of our products is just as important as what we put in them! In fact we only include ingredients that downright love your skin. This is why, when an ingredient is harsh it doesn’t go anywhere near out products, and gets added to our NOs list! You can always trust that our skincare will be always gentle and effective even on the most sensitive skin.

Our NOs list includes:
Effective, skin-loving ingredients
Your skin is pretty awesome. Not only is it your body’s largest organ (yes, really!), it helps control body temperature and protects you from bacteria and pollution. That’s why it’s our Simple promise to keep it healthy with hard-working yet gentle ingredients that work in harmony with your skin, for selfie-ready skin every day.
Kind to People
We believe there’s a lot of kindness in the world, but we don’t always see or talk about it. That’s why we’re on a mission to make kindness go viral!
You can’t always control the world around you and what others do or say, but you can control your behaviour, your beliefs, and how you impact others. And when it comes to spreading kindness, we believe small acts can be just as impactful as grand gestures… like helping an elderly neighbour with groceries, offering your seat to someone who needs it more than you, or even sending an uplifting note to a classmate. Because every day, everyone deserves kindness. By making positive and more considerate choices (no matter how small), we can all do our bit to spread kindness. We’re here to remind you to #ChooseKindness – it’s simple.

Stories of kindness
We have curated a selection of stories of kindness, in partnership with "Positive News" to inspire you to Choose Kindness, every day.
Kind to Planet
When it comes to being green, we know how much you care about doing your thing for the planet. Which is why we’re committed to choosing kinder, smarter and more sustainable options – because being kind to the planet is an important part of what we do.
From using more recyclable packaging and alternatives to single-use plastic, to aiming for sustainably sourced and non-GMO ingredients (and of course always cruelty free); our products help support your commitment to #choosekindness, for a better planet.

Moving towards a circular economy...
...where we are not only using less packaging but designing our packaging to be reused, recycled or composted. Keeping this valuable material where it should be – in the circular economy. When it comes to plastic, less, better or no plastic is our motto! All Simple bottles and tubes are fully recyclable AND our bottles are made with recycled plastic. We have also moved away from any green bottles as we know clear bottles are easier to be recycled and reused.

Sustainable and Biodegradable
Simple is committed to sourcing sustainable ingredients and sustainable packaging.
As a company, we have commitment to 100% sustainably sourced paper and board - made from recycled fibre or coming from certified sustainably managed forests.
Our ambition is to make our product formulations biodegradable by 2030. We are well on our way to achieving our goal since all our wipes range and make up pads are now fully biodegradable!

Working on GHG reduction
Our company aims to have no carbon emissions from our own operations and to halve GHG footprint of our products across the value chain by 2030. With the launch of our biodegradable wipes we have decreased our GHG by 19.8% per wipe. By doing a life cycle analysis we are fully aware of the areas of focus. Around 29% of our GHG footprint comes from raw materials for ingredients and packaging. Which is why we’re continuously evaluating alternative raw material for our key formats and remain committed to sustainable sourcing of our ingredients to decrease GHG. We’re committed to becoming carbon positive AND are well on our way.
And we love animals too!
We’re super proud to be globally PETA-certified Cruelty Free. Yasss! We do not test our products on animals anywhere in the world, because when it comes to developing cosmetics that are safe for humans, we don’t think there’s any need for animals to be involved. And as a brand born in Europe, we are very proud Europe has completely banned animal testing since 2013. Awesome.

Our Actions
In addition to ensuring our products are kind to planet we also work with partners who have a similar mindset as us.
Our partners:
The Woodland Trust, the UK’s largest woodland conservation charity, brings damaged ancient woodland back to life, safeguarding the carbon stores of the future and giving thousands of threatened wildlife species a home.
Simple’s support to date will help the Woodland Trust restore 58 hectares of ancient woodland. Ancient woods store carbon in their trees and their soil, offer priceless cultural and heritage value and have an irreplaceable impact on biodiversity.
“Ancient woodlands are some of our most biodiverse habitats and per hectare one of the best carbon stores in the country, but at least 60% of our existing ancient woodland is under threat. You can’t create ancient woodland, it takes centuries to develop its unique characteristics, so once it’s gone, it’s gone forever. But thanks to our partnership with Simple we can bring some of these precious habitats back from the brink, and make sure they’re still there for future generations of people and wildlife.” Dr Dean Kirkland, Ancient Woodland Restoration Project Manager at the Woodland Trust.

An environmental charity that mobilises thousands of volunteers every year to clean up the foreshore of the Thames and works on conservation projects for wetlands.
Simple sponsors two major public “Big Wet Wipe Counts” removing 312 bags equivalent of 7tonnes of wipes and other waste that ends up on the foreshore when not disposed of properly. Simple will also help to support Thames21’s bespoke accredited training program for volunteers. Training them to run their own river litter-picks/river restoration activities and reach 1k+ people in London’s communities.
Remember to recycle packaging waste. But if you do see waste in the river . . . . help us pick it up!
